RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD

The Editorial Board shall ensure the preparation of the manuscripts for the double-blind review. The acceptance, rejection, or recommendation of a manuscript for revision and resubmission is also within the responsibility of the Editorial Board. Such decision is based, to a large extent, on the recommendations of nominated scholars who act as referees. It is the responsibility of the Editorial Board to inform an author about the status of his/ her submission regardless of the decision. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject papers that violate legal provisions on libel, copyrights, and originality. Any information concerning a manuscript under review must remain confidential until its acceptance for publication. The Editorial Board does not necessarily endorse the views expressed in the articles published in the journal. As an Open Access journal, TALA does not charge any fees to complete the publication process. The Editorial Board will not impose any charges against the authors or users for submission or article processing.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE REFEREE

The referees nominated by TALA's Editorial Board are scholars practicing on their field of specialization. The referees assist the Editorial Board’s decision to accept, reject, or review and resubmit manuscripts based on their assessments and recommendations. A referee must treat an assigned, manuscript with utmost confidentiality during the double-blind review process, however; it is the responsibility of the referee to inform the Editorial Board when a legal violation by the author is suspected. The evaluation of a manuscript should be based solely on its academic merit and not on different aspects such as race, gender, sexuality, or religious and/or political orientations of the author.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE AUTHOR

It is the responsibility of the author to prepare his/her manuscript for double-blind review. The author must ensure that his/her work is an original work. The sources used in the manuscript should be appropriately cited. An author must not submit the same manuscript to another journal when it is currently under review by TALA. The author should inform the Editorial Board right away if his/her work is being considered in another journal or publication medium; in such case, TALA will discontinue the review of the manuscript. Authors should adhere to the provisions set in the Copyrights page of the journal once their manuscripts are published by TALA.
