Abstract

Kilala ang lalawigan ng Bulacan sa mga bayaning nakipaglaban, at nakapag-ambag ng malaki upang makamit ang Kalayaan. Gayundin, tanyag din ang lalawigan dahil sa mga dakilang personalidad kagaya nina Francisco Balagtas, Nicanor Abelardo, at Guillermo Tolentino. Dagdag pa rito, kilala ang Bulacan sa pagkakaroon ng malalim na pananampalataya ng mga mamamayan. Marami ring mga tradisyon, kaugalian at paniniwala ang lalawigan ng Bulacan na hanggang sa kasalukuyan ay isinasagawa pa rin ng mga Bulakeño.

Kinakailangan munang maunawaan ang kultura ng isang tao bago maunawaan ang espiritwalidad nito. Sa ganitong paraan ay mauunawaan ang konsepto ng espiritwalidad ng isang tao. Sa pag-aaral na ito, gamit ang dalumat ng cultural energy ni Albert Alejo, SJ, sinuri ang mga tradisyon, kaugalian at paniniwala ng lalawigan ng Bulacan. Sinuri rin ang mga nabuong espiritwal na padron sa kasanayang kultural ng Bulacan. 

Author Biographies

Melanie Turingan, University of Santo Tomas

Melanie D. Turingan  is an Associate Professor III of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Faculty of Arts and Letters, Department of History. She finished her Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies from the University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Arts and Letters; her Master in History from the University of Santo Tomas, Graduate School; and her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) major in Language, Culture and Media Arts from the De La Salle University, Manila. She has held several posts such as Associate Researcher under the Research Center for Social Sciences and Education (Community Engaged Research), a Coordinator for the Social Sciences Department of the College of Nursing, Coordinator for University Wide Student Organization (UST SIMBAHAYAN Community Development Office) and Training and Community Engagement Officer (UST SIMBAHAYAN Community Development Office). Currently, she is the Assistant Registrar of the University of Santo Tomas. She has authored an article on the paintings of Botong Francisco. She is presently an Editorial Board Member of TALA an online journal of the Department of History. She was a finalist at the Dangal ng UST 2018 Most Outstanding Teacher (assistant professor category).

Glenn Irwin Reynon, Communications Program, UST Angelicum

Glenn Irwin C. Reynon is currently the Chair of the Communication Program of UST Angelicum College in Quezon City and a part-time lecturer at Bulacan State University. He graduated with the degree in AB Communication Arts at Colegio de San Juan de Letran Manila in 2009; MA in Communication at the University of Santo Tomas in 2015; and Ph.D. in Philippine Studies in Media, Culture, and Language at De La Salle University Manila in 2020, where he was awarded with Outstanding Dissertation Award. He is also one of the recipients of the Bienvenido N. Santos Mini-Grant for Creative Writing for AY 2017-2018 for Short Stories. In addition, he has presented his research at both local and international conferences. In February and December 2021, he published his researches on Youth Voice Journal, ranked and indexed by SCOPUS. He also gives training and seminars on Broadcasting, Creative Writing, and Research.
